Eye On The Ball

So I was yet again on my way to Walmart yesterday evening (in the freezing cold darkness) to get my crew another 5 (yes I said 5) gallons (yes gallons) of milk for the week (yes that will last us only a week). Even though it would probably be cheaper to keep a cow in our backyard until the Lord grants us the farm we will continue to be thankful for our nearby Walmart and the provisions He has given to purchase milk in such quantity on such a frequent basis and that I’m surrounded by a crew of such healthy consumers.
So as I’m driving and trying to enjoy the invigorating and refreshing feeling of the crisp cold evening air as my heater works on overdrive to try and circulate the heat in my 15 seater bus, my breath was literally stolen from my lungs! Jesus has a way of romancing me like no other with His spontaneity. Who would have thought that on my way to Walmart He would speak so loudly to my heart! All of a sudden this GIANT, GIANT sized ball (the moon) caught my eye! It popped out of no where and it was one of the lowest, biggest, brightest yellow moons I have ever seen!! I so desperately wanted to get a picture but alas, I was driving, and by the time I got to the Walmart parking lot I no longer had a good view of it. However His message continued to radiate in my heart.  Janette, in the game of life keep your eye on the ball, not the score board. You can only reflect Me to the degree that you face Me. That moon I just showed you has no shadow of the earth covering it, that moon is reflecting the sun perfectly. Janette, to the degree that you let this world come between you and I will determine how much and how well you reflect My glory. So take a look at your life, where are your eyes? On the score board of life, comparing, judging, running the rat race, trying to just be good enough?!? Take your eyes off the score board and put them on the ball, Me. Is what I heard Him speak to me last night. He said I never made anything to be just “good enough”. I’m the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords I only do mighty and awesome! Gen. 1:2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering (moving) over the waters. -Wait for it, wait for it…. verse 3 I just have to capitalize it! AND GOD SAID, “LET THERE BE LIGHT” Keep your eyes on the the Light! Jesus said “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” WOW! He threw that out there for all of us so lets get in the game folks! And He is always moving! I was amazed that when I left Walmart (5 gallons later) the moon was now small and bright and VERY high in the sky! Wow! He reminded me of John 5:17 where Jesus says “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” He is always on the move! If my eyes are not on the ball I might miss were He might want to accomplish His purposes through me!! Lets fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb. 12:2 Don’t get hung up on the score board!! If you’ve lost in the past or failed and fallen short.. because Romans 3:23 says for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Our Almighty God is King of the comebacks!! Remember three days after the cross?!!! He blew out of that tomb ALIVE!!!! That old devil couldn’t believe his eyes!! So lets get off the bench into this game of life and live it full out with our eyes not on the score board but on the ball which is Jesus Himself.. I want to live to fully reflect Him, depend on Him, find my security in Him, be in harmony with Him, submitted to Him, find my validation only from Him, have my first concern be for Him, and dear Lord help me to learn to be still and silent before You resting in Your sufficiency. You are the great I Am. Jesus says I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 So that score board we like to look at so much here on earth won’t mean a thing anyway unless we are in Him. Its all about Jesus. Am I in a position that I can see Him? How much of the world is blocking my view? Jesus lift my eyes, keep my eyes on You.
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour fourth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the end of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. Psalm 19:1-4
