Then he fell to the ground in worship. Job 1:20
The fire alarm has just been pulled… you have 60 seconds… what do you take? 1. 2..
Take this: After Job found out the worst of the worst he could ever have imagined had happened to his life his first response is remarkable! Job 1:20 says Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship. – Yes he was devastated thus the tearing of his robe and shaving of his head but then he does what?! Worships!! He recognizes in his heart there is a God and he is not it and he reverences the way He has chosen to do things rather than stumble over them. Job later says in 2:10 Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble? God promises in this world we will have trouble (John 16:30) He also says there is a paradise to come (Luke 23:43). Job is never given an explanation as to why what happened to him happened but knowing God was there with him in it all is enough. Job 42:5 My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. -Before his suffering Job had only heard of God but now through his suffering he has seen God with eyes of faith and now spiritual understanding which enables him to accept His ways even in suffering. Dear Jesus I pray you keep me from such tragedy however I pray for a faith unshakable like Jobs, fix my eyes on You so if the worst of the worst I could ever imagine happens i won’t stumble but find that You, the great I AM will never have left me alone and will be more, more than enough completely.
