Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2
The fire alarm has been pulled.. you have 60 seconds… what do you take? 1, 2..
Take this: Reading the drama between Hagar and Sarai in Gen. 16 really got me thinking. Abram, Sarai’s husband was given a promise from God that he would have descendants too numerous to count yet for years Sarai his wife remained barren. So Sarai reasoned, God had given this promise and for years she continued to remain barren however a very acceptable practice in that day was to give your husband a maid servant in which to build a family through. She reasoned open door right! This MUST be the way God has planned after all it makes total sense looking at the promise, our circumstances and acceptable societal practices nothing showed warning signs right…I was thinking what would have kept me from making the same HUGE mistake that they did?! It was when I came across Romans 12:2 above that I think my answer came. Do not conform to the pattern of this world- don’t look at what society says is acceptable, or to what appears to be a perfectly open door… if every open door was from God, He knows I would only look for open doors and not for Him! He is a relational God. But be transformed by the renewing of your mind! How? by dousing it in Truth in a relationship with my Jesus in which I bring all my “I don’t knows” along with all my “I’m sure this has to be rights” and listen to His voice on the subject. After all its only Him that can keep you from stumbling. (Jude 1:24)
59, 60. GO! (and stumble free!)
