The fire alarm has just been pulled… you have 60 seconds… what do you take? 1, 2…

Take this: It was now the THIRD month since the Israelites had been rescued from Egypt and they had over the past three months experienced God’s care and provision. Their arrival now at Sinai marked a significant milestone and they would now be brought into a national covenantal relationship with the Lord. Exodus 19:4 God says, You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Interesting to me how this description best describes the golden eagle who cares for its young until its ready to fledge at THREE months! God knows best when we’re ready to spread our wings… will you trust His judgment?! The people of Israel were afraid too… Exodus 20:18-20 When the people saw the thunder and lightening and heard the trumpet and saw the mountain in smoke, they trembled with fear they stayed at a distance and said to Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak to us or we will die.” Moses said to the people. Do not be afraid. – Israel requested a mediator between them and God which was filled by Moses then by priests, prophets and kings…. then by Jesus Himself! Jesus (fully God) showed us no greater love while He walked this earth. James 4:8 promises- come near to God and He will come near to you. John 1:1 describes Jesus as the Word and we have the Word of scripture breathed by Him, we have Jesus/God with us and we can hear Him speak through His Word as He whispers I care for you, I’ll provide for you….fly My child, FLY!
