Does this sign ever feel like where you’re at to anyone else?! You find yourself crying out in prayer, God show me the next step, show me the way! and He whispers back to my heart… Janette, I AM the Way. (John 14:6) Maybe I need to react more like Moses did in Exodus 33..verse 12 after Moses says Lord you have been telling me to “Lead these people” but how?! verse 13 Moses says teach me Your ways so I may know You! – The Lord responds in verse 14 “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” and Moses wisely responds in verse 15 If Your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. – Then verse 18 Moses says, Now show me Your glory. – So when I feel I am at a stop sign like this one in the picture and I can’t see the way or the next step… I can take more time to pray less about the next step and instead more to know Him, The Way, who He is, to see things from His perspective, to ask that He help me understand more of His purposes and His ways, Lord show me You, show me Your glory, draw me closer because I want only to be where You are! In response to Moses’ request to see God’s glory the Lord does show him in Ex. 34:6 And He passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness – (Side note: I do find it humorous or maybe more comforting to read in Ex. 34:1 The Lords response to Moses after he broke the first set of 10 commandments He gave him…. He shows His compassion, graciousness, that He is slow to anger and abounding in love and faithfulness when He says Moses, chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones, and I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke. (2) Be ready in the morning… Praise God His love is unfailing that He still wants us back and wants to use us even when we have gone the wrong direction before!) The more I know of Him the more I can trust Him in the unknown situations and circumstances… It was put very well by Hudson Taylor I thought…”I am no longer anxious about anything, as I realize this; for He is able to carry out His will, and His will is mine. It makes no matter where He places me, or how. That is rather for Him to consider than for me; for in the easiest positions He must give me His grace, and in the most difficult His grace is sufficient. It little matters to my servant whether I sent him to buy a few cash worth of things, or the most expensive articles. In either case, he looks to me for the money, and brings me his purchases. So, If God place me in great perplexity, must He not give me much guidance; in position of great difficulty, much grace; in circumstances of great pressure and trial, much strength? No fear that His resources will be unequal to the emergency! And His resources are mine, for He is mine, and is with me and dwells in me.” Oh more of You Lord in my life, more of You Jesus, The Way, my Way!
Isaiah 30:21 Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” So until then I can/we can stand in front of that sign anxiety free because I/we have The Way in my/our heart and I/we trust Him.
