Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.
Have you ever had this experience… you tell your little guy that he can go out in the backyard sprinklers but just to wait a minute while you go get his suit. The next thing you notice out of the corner of your eye your little man is running full speed in all his glory stark naked (just as God intended right) through the yard toward the sprinklers!!?!! Mortified (as if the neighbors are not already used to the family shenanigans) you rush out to rescue him (actually yourself) from any further embarrassment! He exclaims, “But mom you said I could!” You calmly reply, “I said WAIT.” I think there is something to be said about waiting WITH God. That requires a relationship one in which you get to experience Him, learn and grow from Him in the wait. So often in the bible people got themselves into trouble when they raced ahead of God doing things the way they thought best. I know its hard the longer the wait becomes, discouragement can set in and you are tempted to go on your own feelings. Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things. -I think to wait well WITH the Lord its an issue of constant “seek me” and “seek Me”. Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. And Jer. 29:13 You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart. -A good example I think of waiting with God is 1 Sam. 23:1-5 David asks God for guidance..God says go..sill afraid he asks God again…God says go and I am with you.. this time he goes and has success. -Lord, please don’t let me go all Tarzan on You, I want to wait well WITH You, and do things Your way, the very best way.
