So its my girls that have scheduled activities tonight so that leaves me with my 4 male children to assist me with dinner and assist me they do! For desert we couldn’t decide if it should be brownies or chocolate chip cookies. To avoid any wars we made a pan of brownies and sprinkled cookie dough on top! A win win hope it all turns out ok, however I doubt in this house we will have any problem finishing that pan off, actually the war may come when deciding who gets that last piece!! Anyway things are in the oven and the crockpot is full so while the hoopla is now at a dull roar I heard the soft beckoning of my computer. I read an acronym for the word war today that I thought was good and share worthy… W.illing A.rmed R.ight-minded. John 10:10 says the devil has come to steel, kill and destroy the abundant life Jesus came to give. There are many enemies and weapons of war the devil will use on us and in 1 Peter 5:8 Peter says be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. – And if anyone would know that it would be Peter right… remember the three cock crows?!! So what is he trying to devour you with? I know he can rage a mighty battle against my mind so wallpapering my brain with God’s truth has been one helpful way for me be proactive in this worldly war. If the devil is prowling around that sounds pretty active to me and in Jesus strength the ultimate victor, I can be active in this war too. Isaiah 59:1 Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear to dull to hear. -Folks Jesus paid too high a price for you and I lets not fall prey to the devils schemes! The first letter in war is W for willing… Psalm 51:12 is one of my most favorites..Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. – I pray that often. The second letter A is for armed and the first go to address for that one is Ephesians 6:10-18 that outfit is good for any occasion right! I’ll cut and paste that in here its just so good…especially verse 18 when it says… and pray – its like the activate button for the whole suit! 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. – I just love that! He thought of everything, God has us covered! He has fully equipped each one of us for all that He has called us to do (Heb. 13:21, 1 Cor. 3:5-6) Now for the last letter R.ight-minded, probably the biggest one for me.. I need to repeat 2 Cor. 10:5 often along with Phil. 4:8 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. – and Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable –if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things. (Ok so I have to hurry up and finish the oven is beeping at me but like I set my watch at least 5 minutes ahead I always set the oven timer to go off a good 10 minutes before its actually done that way since it always goes off at an inconvenient time I can let it go and know my food will be perfectly fine when I can get to it in 10 minutes! Anyone else have my issues?!?!) So to wrap it up Gods word is a double edged sword (Heb. 4:12) lets learn to be skilled knightly men and women in God’s army as we make every effort as far as it depends on us to live at peace with everyone (Romans 12:18) like making brownie/cookie desert! Psalm 94:18-19 “When I said, ‘My foot is slipping,’ your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy. – Go get em warrior of God and I will too pray to keep all this in mind and right now my ceiling sounds like my 4 male children, all warriors for sure, have found a way to jump off something and if I don’t go check on it I may no longer have a second level in my home and then there is that beeping oven!
