Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. Deuteronomy 30:11
As parents, coaches, bosses, we would never ask our people to do something we knew would be unattainable. Now we may seriously stretch and challenge our people but only because we see potential, we believe in their ability maybe even more than they do at times. The same is true of our God.
At times it may seem God has asked the impossible of us. It’s in those moments we must be reminded of Who is doing the asking… the great I AM who has promised multiple times in His Word that when we get to the end of our everything He Himself will be our everything. (Deut. 31:3,6,8,23 and Joshua 1:5,6,7,9 are just a handful of verses reminding us of that!) He reminds us He is not a God far away but close up! The devil yells out His lies but Jesus whispers His truths because He is right beside you! Lean in to Him.
The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trust in him will never be put to shame.” Romans 10:8-11 NEVER BE PUT TO SHAME.
If you are a human you’ve already been chosen to participate in this game of life but it’s up to you to choose to live it. Deut. 30:19 Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life..
Jesus, today and especially when I feel like You have entrusted me with the impossible please remind me You never asked me to face it alone. That never will You leave me nor forsake me (Deut. 31:6), that Your Spirit rest on me – the Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, power, knowledge and a holy reverence of all You are to me (Isaiah 11:2). Help me to love, listen and hold fast to You as you love, listen and hold fast to me.
