Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1
The fire alarm has just been pulled… you have 60 seconds… what will you take? 1, 2..
Take this: I can embrace WHAT is uncertain, because of WHO I am certain.
Joshua 10 says six times no survivors were left. No one to lead the way or influence thinking. Israel was willing to follow God’s command and destroy all who breathed (Joshua 10:40) and rely on Him and Him alone in their new land. A new land full of unknowns! If they had not relied on the one certainty they had (God, Who proved faithful at every turn) they would have drown in uncertainties, frozen in fear. God knew if any survivors were left around His people it would do them harm. He alone had to be their stronghold, their one certainty if they were to become strong. If we are to become all that God intended, we too need to be willing to embrace uncertainties, leaving “no survivors”, nothing that might misplace where our full certainty belongs. Lets take hold of faith, certain He will never leave us, certain He is bigger than our mistakes, certain of His love and certain of His character He portrays in Scripture.
