For a long time now – to this very day – you have not deserted you brothers but have carried out the mission the LORD your God gave you. Joshua 22:3

That’s what I want said of me… that no matter how long it takes I faithfully carried out the mission the Lord my God gave me.

I can get sidetracked from that mission when I become consumed with being the G.O.A.T. -Greatest Of All Time.  When clearly He calls us to be servants – it should not be something I do… but rather who I am. A servant of the Most High God. I’m created for Him not Him for me. Jesus gave us the ultimate example on being a servant leader when He walked this earth.

Matt. 25:31-46 The Sheep and the Goats: Jesus says, Matt. 25:31-33 When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd  separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Verse 41 Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me… On that day the last thing any of us will want to be is a goat. Before its too late lets assume the humble position of a sheep.

Matt. 25:34 Then the King will say to those on the right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison on you came and looked after me.

I can get so caught up on trying so hard to be the G.O.A.T. – or so discouraged because I just can’t seem to be the G.O.A.T. When in the Kingdom its often the things that seem the smallest and most insignificant, the most non G.O.A.T. like things that make the most impact of all! There is no higher calling than to be the servant of the Most High God! The true G.O.A.T. is really the sheep who in sincere humility say (Verses 37-39) Lord when…?! When did we serve You like this?! The King will reply, Verse 40… I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me. In the Kingdom its the small things that ARE the big things.

I can’t be a G.O.A.T. we cry…. Jesus says good, its sheep I’m preparing My Kingdom for anyway.

God, help me to carry out Your mission for my life even when it seems so small and insignificant and the road seems oh so long. I want to hear you say in the end… well done good and faithful servant.

SERVANT of the MOST HIGH GOD! There is no greater more significant mission to complete!
