They will proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn – for he has done it. Psalm 22:31
He has done it!! Oh praise Him He has!!
Luke 18:31-34 Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, “We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled. He will be handed over to the Gentiles. They will mock him, insult him, spit on him, flog him and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.” The disciples did not understand any of this. It’s meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.
Now after Jesus death and resurrection Jesus appears to His disciples…
Luke 24:44-49 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, The Prophets and the Psalms.” Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”
Before all that Jesus predicted took place the disciples could not understand but they followed in faith. Afterward Jesus opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. How how I pray to follow in faith when I do not see or understand. To trust that He sees things I don’t and understands things I can’t. I pray that He opens my mind, eyes, ears and heart to understand and receive the Truth of His Word. I know He is faithful.
He has a plan for each one of us and we so often see the underside of the tapestry all knots and ties but He sees the topside, the beautiful beyond description topside that He is weaving together with your life. He told the disciples He had great plans for each of them beginning in Jerusalem and that He would grow their ministry but they were to wait until they had been clothed with power from on high before leaving that city. No timeline just “wait”, again requiring faith.
Lord, do not let me jump ahead of You. You had great plans for the disciples and You did enlarge the ministry but the road was not easy and with out You, impossible. I know You have great plans for each of Your creations, things that can only be accomplished with You. Help me to stay in the “city” You have placed me in, faithfully serving and if I should ever need to move from here I will trust that You will go before me and clothe me with power from on High to do so. I will trust and wait on You, allowing You to renew my strength moment by moment as only You can. Praise you Jesus for you have done it!!
