Fire Alarm Pull With God – 55

Because they did not go with us, we will not share… 1 Samuel 30:22

The fire alarm has just been pulled… you have 60 seconds… what will you take? 1, 2…

Take this: Share.

David and his army of 600 men went to battle to recover what had been taken from them. However 200 of those men were too tired to go to battle so they stayed behind.  When David and the 400 fighting men returned, having met with incredible success, those who fought felt some animosity toward those who stayed behind. Understandably so- you might think; if you didn’t fight, you don’t get to share in the winnings. But listen to what David says in 1 Samuel 30:23 No my brothers, you must not do that with what the LORD has given us. He protected us and handed over to us the forces that came against us.

You see David recognized where the blessing truly came from; God. David then went on not only to share the plunder with those 200 who had been too tired to fight along side them, but also to the elders of Judah, to those who had assisted him during his flight from Saul. David sent some of it to those in Bethel, Ramoth, Negev, Jattir, Aroer, Siphmoth, Eshtemoa, Racal, Jerahmelites, Kenites, Hormah, Bor Ashan, Athach, Hebron and others!!!

David knew Who the victory truly belonged. How often do we get so caught up in prideful ways; caught up in what we feel we are owed. We are owed death and Jesus already saved us from that if we accept Him and believe in Him (John 3:16). It’s us who owe Him, even the very breath in our lungs is because of Him, yet all He asks for is our faith. Will you share Him today, in every opportunity He affords us this day, in our thoughts, words and actions, will we choose to share Him? David did and many were blessed.
