You, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build a house for him. So your servant has found courage to pray to you. 1 Chron. 17:25
The fire alarm has just been pulled… you have 60 seconds… what will you take? 1, 2…
Take this: When God builds your house you find courage.
David had in his heart and mind to honor the Lord. He desired to build a house for the ark of the covenant of God. God however responds to David, You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in. (10) I declare to you that the LORD will build a house for you – 1 Chron. 17:4, 10 God goes on to tell David He will be with his son and be His God! WOW!
No greater joy can I have, there is nothing I desire more in life than to know my children love God as their personal Savior and choose to walk in Truth (3 John 1:4). God tells David ahead of time, you desired to build a house for Me, but I will build a house for you; your legacy of faith will live on in your son! Who am I, O LORD God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? –Do as you promised… so that your name will be great forever (verse 16, 23, 24).
When the deepest desire of our heart is to bless Him we will be richly blessed in ways no human mind could comprehend (1 Cor. 2:9). Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Psalm 127:1 Build your life, your home, on the solid Rock of Jesus, let His kingdom be your aim. True strength and courage only come from Him. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. Matt. 7:25 You can not out bless our Lord, no, not ever!
