But things changed… for it has come to him from the Lord. 1 Kings 2:15
Do you believe He is able? The verse above says “but things changed…” sometimes the hardest thing to change is an attitude. We can make excuses for anything and everything sometimes; I believe it was Ben Franklin that said, “If you are good at making excuses you will seldom be good at anything else.” So true.
No plan of God’s will be thwarted and ultimately we want God to work out His perfect will for our lives; so maybe we need to start with a sacrifice of praise. Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise – the fruit of lips that confess his name. Hebrews 13:15
Psalm 50 states the world is His and everything in it, so He NEEDS nothing from us. However what does He DESIRE from us? Verses 14 and 15 say, Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High, and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me. He knows things we don’t and understands things we can’t so according to these verses its best we offer an attitude of thankfulness to Him in ALL things; also to show our love for Him through our obedience to the Most High. He wants us to rely on Him in trouble, to be our source of strength (even the source of our GOOD attitude), why, because He always delivers!
He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God. Psalm 50:23 So… if sacrifices of thanks honor our Lord AND prepares the way SO THAT He, can show us salvation, I think I need to allow Him to do in me all the changing needed (attitude included) so that the way will be prepared and I can receive that which can only come from the Lord.
