…so these people will know that you, O LORD, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again. 1 Kings 18:37
God is is the only one who can turn a heart. I should not take it for granted that 365 days a year for the last few decades I have woken up a Christian. It’s a mighty miracle! I mean how many times does God have to do a miracle in my life before I take up the joy that is in Him and be truly glad (Psalm 118:24)!?! For I know His commands lead to eternal life! (John 12:50)
I may not understand all that He has allowed, but I don’t have too. Remember those three kings in 2 Kings 3, all running around afraid of the enemy, dying of thirst and God says, dig ditches. What?! Yes, God said dig ditches and although you will not see wind or rain this valley will be filled with water. Sure enough the very next morning that land was filled with water AND the enemy was defeated. I don’t have to understand how I just have to trust the One who is always faithful and is always up to something good.
Jesus I may not understand all Your ways or Your methods but I pray that You continue to do a miracle in my heart. Make it soft to Who you are and continue to draw it ever closer to Yours every day for the rest of my life. You didn’t call me to pick up my crown and follow You but You did ask me to pick up my cross. Only then will I begin to walk intimately with You and know true joy.
