Giants With Jobs

But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you. Exodus 23:29

God will go before you but not for you.

God tells the Israelites how they will take the promised land… I will send my terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter. I will make all your enemies turn their backs and run. Ex. 23:27 If God has called you out you can be sure He will go before you but will you follow? Or will you cower because the “giants” seem too big?

What “giants” keep you from following/trusting Jesus wholeheartedly? You know those “giants” are on assignment! Yes! Just like the human giants the Israelites had to face, God would not drive them out all at once because they were preparing the land so that the Israelites could handle it!! They had a job to do! Ex. 23:30 says God would drive those giants out little by little…not all at once, not until the Israelites had increased enough to take possession of the land.

So lets thank Him for the “giants” in our life that are on assignment, as unpleasant as they may currently seem.  “Giants” assigned to grow us, stretch us, teaching us to trust, forgive, to take courage, to love, to have confidence in who He has created you to be, thank Him for whatever your “giant” is even if you don’t understand it’s job right now. Because one day He’s going to say, “My child, you are ready to take possession of the land. I’m driving those “giants” out before you. Will you go for Me?”

But don’t think all those giants will be taken out… We can be sure He loves us enough to leave one or two to make sure our own pride doesn’t take us down!
