…honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways. Daniel 5:23

In this world we all have a choice. To choose the gospel of this world or the gospel of God’s Kingdom. Why (when we who have lived long enough to know that this world’s gospel leaves us empty) are we still so tempted by it?! It’s like that chocolate piece of cake that seems so heavenly in the moment yet only serves as a source of self condemnation come swimsuit season! This world only leaves us craving because it never satisfies the deep desires of our souls. Only one Way, one Truth can satisfy yet to this world it seems so upside down and backwards. (1 Cor. 1:27*, John 14:6*)

In Daniel 9, Daniel is praying seeking God and three times between verses 20-25 it states that while or as soon as he started praying an answer was given. Then three more times it encourages Daniel to understand the answer and that God knew he would need help understanding. Be encouraged to not walk away from the faith in the wondering, to not give up in the waiting. For He is faithful even when we are not. (2 Tim. 2:13*)

Like Paul we can choose to praise Him for our strengths but also for our weaknesses because although the devil means to steal kill and destroy us (many times using our areas of weakness to do so) we can praise God in our weakness because it causes us to cling that much tighter and run that much deeper into Jesus! We can choose to stop asking “why?” “how?” and turn into Who! (2 Cor. 12:9-11*, Psalm 62:6*)

Sometimes it takes getting to the end of our self before we look up and see more clearly that the answer our souls long for will not be found within us but within Him, the Most High! Daniel 4:34 …raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored.

Pursuing the things of this world only leads to more question marks. It is only in the true gospel of Jesus Christ that we find our exclamation point in life! (John 10:10*) Do you ever wonder why David picked up 5 stones before going to face Goliath? I’m not sure but I do know that he walked away with 4 because no matter what you face in this world, Jesus has a way of always going above and beyond your wildest imagination! He is the only One, the great I AM, that can and will provide for all your needs. (Eph. 3:20-21*, Phil. 4:19*, Ex. 3:14*)

Life in Jesus: it doesn’t end in a question mark – you can be sure the best is yet to come! (Heb.11:1*, Ezek. 48:35*, Joel 3:21*) Satisfaction can be found in none other than the One who created you! (Col. 1:16*) The road He has marked out for you was paved before the creation of the world, He has gone before you. (Duet. 31:8*, Eph. 1:4*, 2:10*)

This doesn’t mean you will not still have anxieties that weigh you down. the Greek word for “cast” in 1 Peter 5:7 (Cast all your anxieties on him because he cares for you.) Is epirrhihipto and means to roll something that will most likely will roll back on you. I think because God knows that in this world you will have trouble yet He has overcome this world through His death and resurrection and wants you to continue to come to Him and allow Him to be your source of true abundant life. (John 16:33*)

So we can all go to Him, not needing to first be impeccable (Heb. 4:16*), just teachable; He will replace your question mark with an exclamation point on the meaning and purpose of your life! Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33
