Then they will know that I am the Lord their God, for though I sent them into exile among the nations, I will gather them to their own land, not leaving any behind. Ezekiel 39:28
42 B.C. the battle of Philippi took place. Rome then became more of an Empire as opposed to to a republic. Thus presenting the Gentile world with something of the gospel of Caesar. Caesar’s coins would say “savior of the world”, his statues would say “the deified one” and he would preach that “peace and security” had come and he would make himself known as a god or lord. There is actually an altar in Rome called Ara Pacis meaning the alter of peace.
This information is something that was made known afresh to me through a bible study called “That The World May Know”. Deeply humbled once again as Psalm 8:4 says it best… what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You see, the Jews of the time would have been familiar with such vocabulary as “savior of the world” and the idea that Lord, God was to bring peace… but the Gentiles not so much. So our Sovereign Lord, 42 years before He sent His Son Jesus, The Savior of the world, Prince of peace, Almighty God to us, had it in His heart to plant seeds among the GENTILES through their own culture to prepare even their hearts and minds to receive Him!! He came for ALL of us! He loves ALL of us!!
John 3:16 For God so loved the WORLD that He gave His one and only Son that WHOEVER would believe in Him would not perish but have eternal life!!! (emphasis mine)
Maybe you feel like you don’t understand all that you have read or heard about the gospel of Jesus… Daniel 12:8-9 I heard but did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?” He replied …the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. But do not give up seeking Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength! (Mark 12:30) Rev. 22:10 Then he told me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near.
I have 6 children yet I have not explained all things to my youngest that I have to my oldest yet because it would be inappropriate and meaningless, there is a time for all things; meanwhile I am raising them up in the Lord in the same way. As a parent I long for nothing more than to have them stick close and continue to learn as they grow and not give up in the hard times but to press on into all that God has called them to be for Him! So it is with God and us.
Keep seeking, keep learning even when it doesn’t all make sense. The Holy Spirit will honor your faithfulness and the Word you have put into your heart and at the right time He will make known to you that which you need to glorify your Father in heaven! (John 16:13, Romans 8:26-27, Luke 12:12)
Jesus came that the world may know: YOU are more loved then you could know. Draw near to Him and don’t give up, He will draw near to you. For He desires to leave none behind.
