16 – wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight! Stop doing wrong, 17 – learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the case of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow. Isaiah 1:16-17
What incredible encouragement to take in verse 16 and realize God’s call to repent yet then to continue reading through verse 17 and realize God still thinks I’m worth His calling on my life!!
All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 Yet He saw us all, knew us all 100% and His heart still went out to us, still desired to send His only Son, Jesus, to save our lives; to bring us into a close relationship with Him. We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. 2 Corinthians 4:7
Jesus today please help me to shine for You, to not become discouraged by all my past failings but to allow Your great Light to pour forth through all the cracks in my clay pot; to receive the free gift of Your grace, mercy and forgiveness through my belief in Your death on the cross and Your resurrection from the grave so that I could have abundant and eternal life in a relationship with You. Today in Your strength I want to step forward into Your calling on my life, to love You with all my heart, mind, soul and strength and to love others as myself (Luke 10:27). In Your mighty name Jesus, Amen.
