In The Night

In the night I remember your name, O LORD… Psalm 119:55 My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promises. Psalm 119:148

All too often it is in those night hours that our fears and worries seem darkest and we are left sleepless as we wrestle with things so often out of our control. Psalm 119 reminds us in the night to remember His name! How powerful! He is the great I Am the all sufficient One, I am just the branch, He is the vine and apart from Him I can do nothing (John 15:5) so will I choose to wrestle in all my branchyness or abide in Him, the True Vine…

When we lie wrestles and awake God please remind us of Your great name. I AM – God Mighty Creator – The God Who Sees Me – God Almighty – The Everlasting, Eternal God – The Provider – Master – Healer – My Banner – Consuming Fire – Holy One – Peace – Lord Of Hosts – Rock – Good Shepherd – King – Husband – Living God – Dwelling Place, Strong Tower, Refuge, Shield, Fortress – Judge – Hope – Lord Our Righteousness – God Most High – The Lord Is Here – Father – With Us – Light – Bread Of Life – Lamb of God – King of kings – Messiah – Teacher – Cornerstone – Word – Friend – Beginning And The End – Savior – Redeemer – Jesus – …. “I AM all you need.”

Lord please remind us of Your Word, that gives us the “how” strength to overcome and remind us of Your faithful promises. My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. (92) If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. Ps. 119:50, 92 Lord I pray You, open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law (18) I am your servant; give me discernment that I may understand (125). The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. (130) For this I praise You! Your word is a lamp to my feet and light for my path. (105) Thank you Jesus that Your Word also says in Psalm 119 that You are hope giving, strengthening, counseling, life preserving and fully trustworthy so please, Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. (133)

Help me to crave first Your kingdom and Your righteousness (Matt. 6:33) that You would be my One desire; to trust that You are before all things, and in You all things hold together (Col. 1:17) so I can be still and know (and be oh so grateful) that You are God and that I am not. (Ps. 46:10)
