It is God’s privilege to conceal a matter and the king’s privilege to discover them. Proverbs 25:2
The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law. Deuteronomy 29:29
For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7
Sometimes His greatest gifts are wrapped in doubt. They lie just on the other side of our “how?”, “why?”. However if He gave us proof we would have no need for faith, And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6 When we wrestle with doubts, and we all do, we can cry out to Jesus like that father in the bible, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9:24
Lets not wait for all our doubts to leave before taking a step in faith. The Jordan didn’t part until they had faith to step in. Do you think Jael was doubt free when she picked up the tent peg? But she won the battle. (Judges 4) Or Esther when she approached the king to save her people after not being summoned for 30 days? (Esther 5) Or Daniel as he walked toward the lions den? (Daniel 6) Do you think Shadrack, Mesheck and Abednago had no second thoughts as they approached the furnace being heated 7x hotter?! (Daniel 3) Then there’s Joseph, having heard in a dream that the baby inside Mary had been conceived by the Holy Spirit and he should go ahead and marry her anyway!! (Matthew 1)
They all chose to step out in faith in the face of many doubts and all experienced God in ways that far exceeded their imaginations. Let’s not miss out on the grand adventure God has planned for our lives that lies just beyond our doubts, in the gift of mystery.
