However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. Luke 10:20
God calls us in close radically for one purpose… to send us out radically! Think of Abraham – Hebrews 11:8 states that, By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed; and went, even though he did not know where he was going. Radically called to be radically sent out to be the father of many nations! Think of Moses – In Exodus 3:4 God calls Moses radically from within a burning bush to send him out radically to go talk to Pharaoh and set His people free! Think of Isaiah – he thought he was too sinful yet God healed his lips and said go talk to My people (Isaiah 6:9)! Radically God calls us in close to radically send us out!
Luke 10:3 Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. As we see in this verse His radical call must be His equipping for His radical sending; there is no other way we would be enabled to remain gentle sheep and courageously walk among wolves!
Ephesians 2:10 states, For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. As we answer His radical call on our lives and we begin to advance through our radical sending we must remember what must motivate our rejoicing. Is it what we perceive with our eyes, our personal successes?! No, if our rejoicing is motivated by the material we will be quickly discouraged and disheartened once things don’t seem to be as successful.
I believe our motivation for continuing in our radical sending must be that Jesus thought to radically call us in the first place! As Luke 10:20 states, we are to rejoice that because Jesus chose to have His name blotted out, ours could be written down!!!! And what He writes no man can erase, praise the mighty name of Jesus who conquered the grave and rose again is living and active to this very day! (Hebrews 12:2)
As He radically calls you to be radically sent, rely on His equipping and rejoice in His purpose – HIS purpose. You have a mission and a message to share, which is Him. He has put in you that which will reflect Him in such a way that someone else out there will only see Him so clearly through the angle to which He has equipped only you, to reflect Him with.
