One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose… Luke 6:12-13
Choosing prayerfully is better than choosing carefully any day. Joshua 9 tells of a time he was deceived by the enemy because he acted on what seemed to him to be the obvious right decision. Take a moment to read Joshua 9.
The enemy is the father of lies John 8:44 tells us. So when we don’t know what to do and probably even more so when we think we DO know, choosing our path prayerfully over carefully should be our way 100 percent of the time. After all Joshua 9:14 states, the men of Israel sampled their provisions but did not inquire of the LORD. They were careful, they did sample, and to them it all checked out… until three days later (verse 16).
We don’t want to be caught “three days later” or anytime later wishing we had just chosen prayerfully instead of carefully on our own.
