Brothers if you have a message of encouragement for the people, please speak. Acts 13:15
Paul feared that he was running or had run his race in vain (Galatians 2:2). We can all probably relate on some level to that emotion. Is what we are doing making any difference at all, or will it, if we step out into that situation or opportunity?
Faith wouldn’t be faith if we knew all the answers before we stepped, and without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6), we must lean on His Word and His faithful promises. Listen to His voice leading you one step at a time.
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hears are fully committed to him. 2 Chronicles 16:9
Galatians 5:25 urges us to keep in step with the Spirit. Keeping in step seems to indicate a keeping on, a forward motion… keep trusting, keep seeking, keep stepping out into the Jordan when He’s called you out, trusting in His promise that when I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Psalm 16:8
We only get one life to live all out for Him… Acts 13:36 states, For when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his fathers and his body decayed. Acts 17:26-27 states, From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places were they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each on of us.
So maybe what seems to be insignificant to you may just be how God wants to reveal more of who He wants to be to you that you did not have the opportunity to know before. Maybe things were all too clear before but now because they are not, you have to lean on the fact that apart from Him we can do nothing anyway (John 15:5), you have to lean on His understanding and not your own (Proverbs 3:5-6). You have to exercise faith and trust… from my experience, exercise of any kind typically produces positive results.
No matter how insignificant you feel or the task at hand appears lets choose to stay in step with the Spirit and seize the moment He brings before you for His glory (Acts 11:23) and let the results lie in His capable hands. Paul despite discouraging moments that are sure to ale all of us chose to lift his eyes to the perfecter of his faith (Hebrews 12:2) and kept running His race for Jesus all the way to the end!
as you hold out the word of life – in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing. Philippians 2:16
Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58
Trust that no job is to small or insignificant when handed to you by the King. Seize the moment.
