What’s your filling?

…who fills everything in every way. Ephesians 1:23

This time of year there are more sweets than a mind can conceive or should I say a body should consume… or maybe I speak for my self alone. At my age just looking at sweets can add additional pieces of me to love. 🙂 However in heaven when calories really won’t count, I will choose peanut butter filling… in everything. 😉 With all these sweet filled treats swirling around me it got me thinking about what truly does fill me, what fills my soul?

You are included. (Sometimes you just need to hear those three little words, right?!)

Read Ephesians 1:13 and let your soul deep fry in that! How filling to know that you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit… No one can take that “peanut butter” away from you! You are included and sealed up, you have a guaranteed inheritance, redeemed, God’s possession, to the praise of His glory!!! Having believed (John 3:16) YOU ARE INCLUDED in His family!!! If you are still far away know you can be brought near, included too, because of what  Jesus did for all on the cross! (Eph. 2:13)

He is a good Father and fills His children with everything they need (Phil. 4:19). Anyone reading ever feel the need for more peace, or is it just me?! Eph. 2:14 For he himself is our peace… (17) He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. (19-21) Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation… with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. Verse 21 goes on to say, in him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. 

Our bodies are His temple! (1 Cor. 6:19-20) As believers we are being built up together as His house/church! Can you imagine if every believer allowed Jesus to fill them with EVERYthing that He is in EVERY way all the time!! Let’s be a people that do not quench His Spirit within but allow Him access to EVERY part so that He can work out EVERYthing according to His will. (1 Thess. 5:19, Eph. 1:11).

Maybe that seems scary to let go and let Him have access to EVERYthing, but don’t hide in that fear, tell Him! Eph. 3:12 says, In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. WOW what a God, what amazing grace, mercy and love He must have! In fact Eph. 3:19 says, this love surpasses knowledge but you can be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God! But how is that possible if it surpasses our knowledge?! The answer is in verse 20! Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to his power that is at work with in us… And that’s calorie free folks!!!

Jesus fills the whole universe (Eph. 4:10) and has equipped you for works of service, service done wholeheartedly (6:8) and from your heart (6:6) in order to build up His body in unity of faith so that we can ALL be filled with the whole measure of the fullness of Him (12,13). Are we willing to trust Him to fill us fully with all we never even knew we always wanted?! Maybe you feel dead inside, you’ve been so empty for so long you feel it’s hopeless. Acts 26:8 says, Why should any of you consider it incredible that God raises the dead?

His filling is peace flavored and calorie free my beloved friend in Christ, what do we have to lose? Whether it takes short or long (Acts 26:29)I pray you and I both totally surrender our every moment to His complete and total filling.
