Peeled Paint

So yesterday one of our six children while deciding what they wanted for lunch absentmindedly picked a piece of paint off the wall. Now smack in the middle of a huge green colored (actually it’s oregano spice colored) main wall of our home is a glaringly white polka dot!

I looked at that child of mine and thought what in the world?! Seriously what made you think that was even a remotely good idea?! But then it hit me like a soft bag of rocks… how many times a day must God look at me and think the very same thing!!!

So I said to this paint peeling child of mine, (now looking into big remorseful eyes) since everyone’s eyes will be drawn to this white polka dot anyway why don’t we write a special message in it! Well you wouldn’t believe the size of smile that cracked on that kids face! So you can see in the picture what we wrote together U R loved.

And so we went about our day and I totally forgot about it until my older children returned home from school and that child, I think before the others even got in the door exclaimed, “You gotta come see the special message!!” At that moment God rushed on my heart. Beauty from ashes!

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Where the enemy speaks only lies and shame over my failures and mistakes God says remember… I make beauty from ashes.

Sometimes it first takes peeled off paint to make room for His special message of Truth in our hearts . The enemy wants us wallowing in shame over our peeled off paint moments but Jesus came so we could live life abundantly – in Him there is forgiveness – new life – second chances – dear child you are loved!!!

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Genesis 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.  John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God bless your day!
