But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is far superior to the old priesthood, for he is the one who mediates for us a far better covenant with God, based on better promises. Hebrews 8:6 (NLT)
Ever wanted a “yes” but received a “no”? Me too, but today… right within my “no” came the realization that “no” really means “a better yes”! Look at Heb. 8:6, we have in Jesus a new covenant based not on law but on grace! Christ offers to forgive our sins through His sacrificial death and provided a way into eternal life through His resurrection! May we LIVE enamored for the rest of time on that mighty Truth! This Truth reaches to Israel and Judah and right on into the Gentile nations AND it is now written on our hearts and minds! Praise Jesus the mighty One who saves!
2 Corinthians 1:20 states, For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory. Did you read that?! “A resounding ‘Yes!'”! So you ask, why do I feel like I keep hearing resounding “No’s!”?!? Wellll, let’s look at something in Romans 8:28-29. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. —- What’s His purpose? See verse 29… to be conformed to the image of His Son – to be like Jesus! So maybe any “no” we feel we hear is because God is saying I have a BETTER “yes” for you than the one you think you want. A “yes” that will bring you closer to My heart dear child.
God says no to addiction to say yes to freedom and no to sex outside of marriage to say yes to marital bliss… God says yes to salvation, yes to forgiveness, yes to abundant life, yes to living in an eternal kingdom!! All these “Yes’s” are made possible to us because of Jesus!
Yes to healing, why? – Jesus! See Isaiah 53:5
Yes to good things, why? Jesus! See Romans 8:28-29
Yes to love, why? Jesus! See Romans 8:38-39
Yes to blessings, why? Jesus! See Ephesians 1:3
Yes to meeting needs, why? Jesus! See Philippians 4:19
So if I get a “no” and I feel I need a “yes” it’s got to be because He has “a better yes” and blessed will I be if I wait for it (Isaiah 30:18); and allow Him to shape my perspective of what that “yes” should really look like (Romans 12:2).
Jesus, thank You for the “no’s” that direct me further into the “yes’s” of Your perfect will. I praise You for making known to me the path of life; for filling me with joy in Your presence and with eternal pleasures at Your right hand. (Psalm 16:11) Thank You for Your better promises and for giving me every reason to LIVE enamored every day. Amen.
