Then the LORD said to Job, “Do you still want to argue with the Almighty? You are God’s critic, but do you have the answers?” Job 40:2
“A man with an experience far out weighs a man with an opinion.” Is that not the truth!
Jesus took on the experience. Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, humbled himself by becoming obedient to death- even death on a cross! Phil. 2:6-8 Jesus didn’t have to, He chose to… but for heaven’s sake why?!
Well, that’s just it! For – heaven’s sake – that IS why! He took on the experience so that we could all inherited undeserved eternity with Him! For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
So when we are struck with things we do not fully understand and we want to fall away in a hurt heap of offence, maybe we could first try seeing those trials and dilemmas as opportunities to turn to the God who’s walked the talk, and receive His strength.
God desires to be I AM all that we need, to show us love and compassion. If we can trust Him even in the suffering and confusion we win the victory by eliminating the enemies greatest weapon: doubt, that he uses to gain a foothold in tearing us apart!
If we choose to trust God and make Him our firm foundation… Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (37) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. Romans 8:35-37
Maybe there are a few things today we could turn over to Him… for God’s sake. 1 Peter 2: 18-25 (MESSAGE) …What counts is that you put up with it for God’s sake when you’re treated badly for no good reason. …This is the kind of life you’ve been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step. He never did one thing wrong, Not once said anything amiss. They called him every name in the book and he said nothing back. He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing. You were lost sheep with no idea who you were or where you were going.
Now you’re named and kept for good by the Shepherd of your souls.
Good grief! His grief became our good and there is no greater love. Now you’re named and kept for good!! We may not understand or know it all, so instead of pretending like we do or falling into doubt because we don’t, let’s pray for ever increasing trust in the one Who says, For I know… Jeremiah 29:11
In Jesus you are already victorious and one day that victory will be…
