A “rainbow” painted just for you: But I Thought that… – So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy. 2 Kings 5:14

In 2 Kings 5:9-14 we see a guy who THOUGHT he knew best. He even gives evidence to validate his thinking and prove that clearly he knows better than God Almighty! This may sound funny however how often if we are honest probably ride that same horse all too often.

2 Kings 5:9 Naaman actually takes his horse to the man of God’s house. Naaman, though covered in deadly disease, still has enough fight in him to be ornery about God’s healing methods! Verse 11 indicated Naaman storms away angry not because God said “no” or even “wait” but because he didn’t like God’s “yes”!! What have you wanted lately? Considering the times there might be plenty you had wanted to come back like you were used to however as things HAVE come back…church, school, work does it look like YOU thought or wanted it to exactly?! Maybe not, so we, like Naaman, have a choice. We can storm away from the “Ephesians 3:20” He is trying to bring about to this world OR we can throw off all the sin that so easily entangles us and run with perseverance that race HE has marked out for us that will bring Him the most glory, honor and praise (Heb. 12:1).

In all Naamans disappointment, to his credit he listens to reason and comes back around by verse 14. “So he went… as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean…” Praise God Almighty who’s way is always best and always right and always in perfect timing!
