Reigning Rainbows Devotional  (Matt. 13:16) – 29 of 52

Song pick of the week: https://youtu.be/3rffktL2BoA  “Your Love Feels Like Home” by Jonny Diaz

A “rainbow” painted just for you: Floating On Air – Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything. 1 John 3:20 (NLT)

Ever feel like you will just never hit the mark? Weighted down by thoughts that you could/should always love more, do better, try harder, to the point you feel you’ll never be free of a gnawing guilty conscience?! Well good news! You are not alone in fact God knew so many people would feel this way that He addresses it in His timeless living Word!

Dear one, God is greater than our feelings (1 John 3:20)!! He knows our motives behind every action so it’s not about how things appear and measure up by this world’s ever fluctuating standards or wayward human judgment; Rather focus on the love of Christ and the unshifting standard of measurement on ultimate Truth found in His Word (James 1:17, Malachi 3:6). Allow His voice of assurance to trump that of the world’s accusations.

Romans 8:1 tells us there is no condemnation for us in Christ!! Good News!! Hebrews 9:14 (NLT) Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our conscience from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God… So we can what?! Worship and serve the Living God! The enemy would love for us to sit frozen under a guilty conscience hindering our worship and service of the one true King. Don’t allow it any longer! Christ’s blood was too costly and too thick to leave anything uncleansed once received, upon believing… EVEN our consciences! (See 1 John 1:9 and Psalm 103:12)

Hebrews 10:22 (NLT) let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. Soooo… (verse 23) Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.

In faith we hand Him our guilt that weighs down our consciences and Trust Him. Shift focus from self to Almighty God who is greater than our feelings and will be all sufficient within us. Dear one, now walk set free… like a bubble floating on air!
