Delivery Status: Delayed – Possibly Lost

That time of year has rolled back around again that people like to call “Black Friday”. I don’t know, but it may be safe to assume you have experienced a few other days this 2020 year you could classify as “black”, or at least a shade darker than expected.

Recently I made an order on Amazon. When the package seemed to be delayed I checked the delivery status. To my dismay it said “possibly lost”. What?! What does “POSSIBLY lost” mean?!! My day got a shade darker as I festered over the fact that of all the things I had ordered, the most important item had reached a status of “possibly lost”!! One more thing not to be able  to rely on this year! My packages cannot even be lost definitively; they get “POSSIBLY lost”!! Good grief!!!

Yet God faithful delivered Isaiah 55 even still, straight to the doorstep of my soul. “Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink- even if you have no money!… Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen to me, and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food. Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. (verses 1-3 NLT)

God’s Word is free, unchained and life giving however it can reach “possibly lost” status if we allow it to. To truly receive His gift it will cost our stubborn heart, our selfish ways, our list of pent up offences, and wait for it… yes, even our mighty grip on the illusion of control. The Prince of Peace is waiting to make a delivery. Let us not be the reason our most important, free delivery of peace get’s delayed dear one or worse yet, “possibly lost”.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 NIV It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. You will live in joy and peace….Isaiah 55:11-12 NLT
