A “rainbow” painted just for you: Are You Building Your Own Boulder? – Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. Psalm 127:1 ESV
I don’t know about you but if I had been Noah (some 600 years old) I would have looked at the mere THREE verses (Gen. 6:14-16) of instructions for the ARK and looked back at God and said, “CLEARLY you can’t mean for this to be a DIY project… right?!!”
Have you ever felt commissioned for a task way beyond you? I believe the confirmation that you have everything it takes to carry out ANY commission is found in God’s command to do it. If Noah had looked at the Ark DIY project from any human perspective he would have given up before even getting started however I believe Noah saw DIY and perceived it with God vision – D.o I.n Y.ahway. Luke 1:37 tells us NOTHING with God is impossible! This working with God, in God, ends up building a stronger relationship bridge between your heart and His. But what happens when you face a God sized project in a human sized way?
When we get it in our mind we can DIY, just D.o I.t Yourself, we may find ourselves building the “boulder” we stumble on! In Genesis 9:20-21 records Noah building a vineyard and he ends up getting drunk on the wine resulting in the curse on Canaan. In Gen. 9:1 God gives the project to repopulate and FILL the earth. The people take building into their own hands and think they have a BETTER idea, to build the Tower of Babel to keep themselves together! This only leads to MUCH babble and thus a scattering ALL over the world!
When we build WITH God and according to HIS plans like Noah did with the Ark, the building saves lives. What are you building today? Who are you building with? Who’s design are you following? Is there anything you need to tune out (2 Cor. 10:12) so that you can hear God’s plan, His directions that you might, D.o I.n Y.ahway what you could never D.o I.n Y.ourself?
