Soaked, Saturated and Seeping Out

He said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will display my splendor.” 

Isaiah 49:3 (NIV) 

This morning I saw the strangest thing that stirred my curiosity. I was reminded of Moses as I approached not a burning bush out of wonder, but my small house plant. Okay, so maybe Moses and the burning bush is a bit of a stretch in comparison however my little house plant with it’s dripping leaves left me baffled! I approached for a closer inspection. 

At first I wondered if the open windows and the chill of the morning air was somehow creating dew on the leaves?! Then it dawned on me! The other day I had done some gardening in my front yard and one of the garden pots had not had holes in the bottom punched out so the soil had become just absolutely saturated with water! Once I punched the bottom holes in the pot with a screwdriver, probably near half gallon of water pored out!! The soil felt just like a handful of wet sand does when you pull it up from the bottom of a lake or ocean shoreline! It was dirt from this soaked and saturated pot that I re-potted my house plant. 

The roots of this small plant were soaking up so much water from that soil that it was literally leaking out of it’s leaves!! I call that a God Love Note with an Ephesians 3:20 stamp on it! Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, Ephesians 3:20 (NIV) 

Dear one, today choose to set the roots of your life down into the Water of His Living Word and just let Him saturate your heart with His life giving Truth. Soak and saturate to the point, that like my plant, you leak out everlasting joy in all your moments and in all your relationships and through each circumstance that surrounds you! You were made to be a soaked up – to seeping out, display of His splendor! Receive the Truth that will saturate your mind and heart with His everlasting joy!
